Chambers Canada

Lawson Lundell lawyer, Sheila MacPherson, has been recognised by Chambers Canada with their prestigious Outstanding Contribution award at this year's ceremony, which was held virtually on September 9. This award celebrates Sheila's career and contributions to the legal profession and to the practice of law across Northern Canada.

This is the first time Chambers Canada has presented an outstanding achievement award to a lawyer in private practice in Canada. Previous recipients of this award include the Honourable Yves Fortier and the Honourable Ian Binnie.

Sheila is the most senior partner in Lawson Lundell's Yellowknife office and has served as its Office Administrative Partner since 2002. Under Sheila's management, the Yellowknife office has grown considerably, making Lawson Lundell one of the largest law firms in the Northwest Territories. Sheila has demonstrated extraordinary leadership throughout her over 30-year legal career, contributing greatly to the local, regional and national legal communities.

"I have been very fortunate to have been able to have a rich, diverse and rewarding career here in the Northwest Territories, including what is now Nunavut, for the past 34 years," said Sheila. "I've also been very fortunate to have been guided by many teachers and mentors along the way. I owe a deep debt of gratitude to many."

36 of the Firm's lawyers were also recognised for their experience across 15 practice areas and the firm itself was named Regional Law Firm of the Year

Congratulations Sheila on this wonderful honour!
