Lawson Lundell partner, Sandra MacKenzie, wrote an article on “How COVID-19 Affects the Workplace” that was published in the Nunatsiaq News, a newspaper of record for Nunavut and the Nunavik territory of Quebec.

In the article, Sandra discusses the health and safety obligations of employers, employees’ right to refuse unsafe work, temporary layoffs, and government aid.

"Nunavut has yet to indicate what types of worker are classified as essential during the pandemic. As such, each employer must make that assessment on their own." said Sandra.
