Pacific Business & Law Institute: Construction Update 2025Lawson Lundell was proud to take part in the Pacific Business & Law Institute (PBLI): Construction Update 2025 conference on June 17.
Lawson Lundell lawyer Mike Morgan, FCIArb., co-presented with Dave Curtis of Fasken on “Kingdom Langley v. WQC: Security and the Shimco Lien," where they discussed the details of a very recent Court of Appeal decision that changed, in part, a practice which had developed over the last 20+ years in the construction industry following the Shimco decision. The recent decision was rendered by a unanimous five judge panel of the Court of Appeal and will have an immediate impact on construction law practice. Mike acted for the successful party on that appeal so he shared first-hand knowledge about the case and its implications going forward.
