On March 7, Lawson Lundell lawyer Cecilia Barnes will be a panelist at the Elevate Her 2026 Conference. The conference brings together Black women leaders, entrepreneurs, and creatives to share insights and experiences. The theme of this year's conference is 'Connected Power: The Strength of Us, we explore what becomes possible when Black women come together not only to lead, but to build, collaborate, and influence systems that shape our future.' Cecilia's panel will explore innovation, leadership, and navigating complex legal environments, offering practical insights for founders and organizations within a community of Black women leaders, entrepreneurs, and creatives.
Cecilia is a commercial lawyer and a member of Lawson Lundell’s Corporate Commercial and Technology groups. Her practice is primarily focused on providing technology companies with practical, business-oriented legal advice with an eye to identifying solutions and minimizing risk. Informed by her first-hand experience as in-house counsel in leading companies, Cecilia advises a broad range of participants in the technology sector, including early-stage companies, growth-stage companies, entrepreneurs and investors. Cecilia is an active member of her community, she has previously served as a director of the British Columbia Chapter of the Canadian Association of Black Lawyers (CABL), and the Black Female Lawyers Network.
The Elevate Her Conference is a conference for Black Women, put on by Black Women Connect Vancouver (BWCV) and Black Business Association of British Columbia (BBABC). Attendees are encouraged to build relationships and learn from one another, while actively participating in sessions and experiences that foster growth and creativity.
