Karen MacMillan and Garrett Lee to Speak at B.C. Week 2025 in South Korea

On November 25, 2025, Lawson Lundell lawyers Karen MacMillan and Garrett Lee will speak at 'B.C. Week 2025' in Korea. Taking place over two days at the Canadian Embassy in Korea, the conference highlights B.C. as an attractive place for trade and investment, and explores the opportunities for business ventures between South Korea and British Columbia. Lawson Lundell is pleased to sponsor this conference.  

Karen MacMillan will participate on a panel titled 'Navigating Korea’s New Energy Policy: Insights for B.C. – Korea Collaboration' and Garrett Lee will speak on a topic titled 'Unlocking New Ways to Raise Capital – An Overview of the Canadian Venture Public Markets.'

Karen is Lawson Lundell's Deputy Managing Partner and Chair of the Executive Committee, as well as Co-Lead of the firm’s Global Mining Group. She practices corporate/commercial, mining, and energy law with an emphasis on commercial arrangements in the mining and energy sectors. She has significant experience with asset-level acquisitions and dispositions, earn-in, option and joint venture agreements, royalty agreements, procurement, construction and engineering agreements, and other complex ownership arrangements. In the energy sector, Karen regularly advises clients on the ownership and development of major power generation projects, power purchase and sale agreements, renewable energy transactions, and other commercial contracting matters.

Garrett specialises in business and commercial law, with a focus on corporate finance and securities, mergers and acquisitions, private company financings, technology transactions and going public transactions. Garrett also advises a variety of clients on a range of business transactions and provides ongoing advice to companies regarding corporate governance, continuous disclosure obligations, securities law compliance and various other business and commercial matters. Garrett has extensive experience working with clients in a wide range of industries, including technology, life sciences, hospitality, food and beverage, manufacturing and mining, ranging from start-up entrepreneurs to advising public and private companies of all sizes.
