Garrett Lee*

Garrett Lee is a corporate and securities partner who advises companies as they build and scale, from startups setting up strong foundations through to growth-stage companies and established public issuers. He focuses primarily on technology, life sciences, and mining, with some work in food and hospitality.

On the capital markets side, Garrett regularly advises on going-public transactions, mergers and acquisitions, financings, continuous disclosure requirements, corporate governance and board advisory work. He also acts for underwriters on public financings and advises on deal structuring, due diligence, and securities law compliance.

At the early stage, Garrett works closely with founders on the strategy and structure that sets a company up for success, including incorporation, founders' and shareholders' agreements, cap table design, and ensuring everything is in place to be financing and acquisition ready. With growth-stage companies, he leads Series A and B financings, merger and acquisition activity, technology transactions, and commercial contracts that come with scaling. He's particularly experienced with companies navigating pivotal moments, including going-public transactions on Canadian stock exchanges, and corporate reorganizations that come when a company pivots or restructures to expand.
