2025 CPBI Saskatchewan Conference

On April 16, 2025, Lawson Lundell lawyer Meghan Popp will speak at the 2025 Canadian Pension & Benefits Institute (CPBI) Saskatchewan Regional Conference. Taking place over three days, April 15-17, at the Sheraton Cavalier in Saskatoon, the conference will cover a myriad of topics from cybersecurity and AI to a primer on pension fund investments. 

Meghan will deliver two presentations. The first presentation, titled 'Pension Pulse: Key Legal Developments You Need to Know,' will look at recent developments in pension law. The discussion will cover changes to pension standards, tax and other relevant legislation, new CAPSA guidelines, and recent cases on the standards and duties applicable to plan administrators. The second presentation, titled 'Age & Access: Tackling Legal Shifts in Age Discrimination and Pharmacare,' will examine recent developments in benefit law. This discussion will cover pharmacare legislation, age discrimination in benefits plans, and recent cases on the standards and duties applicable to plan administrators. These presentations will be of interest to plan administrators, sponsors and service providers to ensure compliance with current legal standards, mitigate risk, and safeguard the benefits of plan members.
