Rachel Getz

Rachel Getz is a summer student in Lawson Lundell’s Vancouver office. She is interested in exploring all practice areas but has a particular interest in corporate commercial law, as well as labour, employment and human rights law.

Rachel is currently working towards her Juris Doctor at Thompson Rivers University. In her first year, Rachel volunteered with Access to Justice BC, serving as a researcher and presenting during Access to Justice Week through Pro Bono Students Canada (PBSC). Rachel is also the Vice President of the TRU Women in Law Society’s Community Engagement team, as well as the Vice President of the Law Rugby Club. In recognition of her involvement in the community, she has been the recipient of the Jess Bray Memorial Award and Stewart Family Law Award.

Prior to attending law school, she completed her Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) in Law and Legal Studies with a Minor in History at Carleton University while playing varsity rugby and serving on the Varsity Council. In her last year, she participated in a Business Research Intensive that brought her to work and collaborate with youth in Mayo, Yukon.
