Brendan J. Craig

Brendan is a real estate lawyer who advises clients on a broad range of real property matters, including acquisitions, dispositions, development, rezoning, subdivision, financing, commercial leasing, and licensing of real estate professionals. He regularly assists clients with corporate and partnership structuring, transactions and reorganizations, including drafting and negotiating partnership, joint venture, and shareholder agreements.  

Brendan has acted as lead development counsel on a variety of development projects in the Lower Mainland and throughout British Columbia, including multi-tower mixed-use developments, residential condo and purpose-built rental projects, industrial strata developments, business parks and projects on First Nations land. He also routinely provides real estate support for syndicates of major financial institutions providing high-value funding for some of the most notable development projects in British Columbia, from popular golf resort communities to iconic Downtown Vancouver high-rises.

Brendan assists clients with unique and often complex real estate issues involving Crown land, First Nations, railways, pipelines, mines, hydroelectric and wind power generation and transmission facilities, biogas facilities, port and dock facilities and contaminated sites. He frequently advises clients on the commercial and real property aspects of district energy and waste heat recovery projects in and outside of British Columbia. He is also consulted by government, regulatory bodies and professional associations with respect to legislation, regulation and practice matters.

Brendan has worked with a wide range of clients from entrepreneurs and investors to real estate developers, public and private companies, pension and private equity funds, municipal governments, utilities, unions, foundations and other not-for-profit entities.
