We are delighted to share that Cecilia Barnes, Counsel at Lawson Lundell, has been selected as the recipient of the 2025 CAN-TECH Rising Star in Tech Law Award.
Cecilia advises a wide range of domestic and international technology clients on commercial transactions, intellectual property, privacy, and data security. With both in-house and private practice experience, she has supported major milestones such as a $950M IPO and is recognized for providing practical, business-focused legal advice that bridges law, technology, and innovation.
In addition to her practice, Cecilia has championed access to justice and inclusive innovation initiatives, including efforts to fund BC’s first Black legal clinic and to create mobile legal tools that expand access to information across the province.
