Employment Law Update

Your annual update on the latest issues and decisions in employment law.  As well as canvassing reasonable notice and damage awards in wrongful dismissal actions, this session will address topics such as effective downsizing and conducting proper investigations of allegations of cause.

Labour Relations Update (Unionized Employers)

An update for unionized employers on what has happened over the past year in the labour relations field.  We will cover new developments in Federal and Provincial labour relations and current issues in collective bargaining.  In addition we will review arbitration decisions of interest and their implications for your workplace.

 Human Rights and Privacy Update

This session will review the latest cases and developments in the area of human rights at the tribunal and court level.  The session will spend some time examining what appears to be an increasing openness to dismissing cases at a preliminary stage.  In addition we will review the most recent legislative changes and decisions pursuant to both public and private sector privacy legislation.
