Crystal Szeto

Crystal practices mergers and acquisitions and general corporate law. She advises private and public companies, private equity funds, institutional investors and entrepreneurs on a variety of transactional matters, including share and asset acquisitions and dispositions, corporate reorganizations and financings, fund formation, partnership structuring and the negotiation and preparation of commercial agreements.

Crystal has developed a broad base of transactional experience across acquisitions, divestitures and financings. She regularly assists clients across the full lifecycle of a transaction, from due diligence and deal structuring through to negotiation, closing and post-closing integration matters. Crystal has particular experience advising platform companies on buy-and-build strategies, where she supports clients through the complexities of executing successive bolt-on acquisitions.

Crystal’s transactional experience extends across a number of industries, including insurance and financial services, forestry, transportation and logistics, manufacturing, water and utilities, food and agriculture, construction and restoration services, real estate, healthcare and technology.

Beyond her transactional practice, Crystal provides ongoing strategic and corporate advice to clients in a variety of industries, including corporate governance and maintenance, shareholders’ agreements, partnership arrangements, equity incentive plans and general commercial matters. She works with clients at all stages of growth, from early-stage businesses through to established platforms executing complex multi-jurisdictional transactions.

Crystal started at Lawson Lundell as a summer student in 2020 and joined the firm as an associate upon the completion of her articles in 2022.
