Nika is a commercial and privacy lawyer in the Kelowna office of Lawson Lundell, with a primary focus on providing strategic advice and legal support to technology companies. She has significant experience drafting and negotiating a range of complex agreements, including cloud services, SaaS, licensing, and strategic procurement agreements. She also advises clients on legal operations and technology, compliance programs and policies (including SOC 2), and marketing, advertising and promotions law.

In addition to firm experience, Nika has almost a decade of experience as in-house counsel, both within a large legal department in a highly regulated industry as well as within a high growth SaaS company, where she was the first in-house counsel and General Counsel. In this role, Nika was tasked with setting up the legal function from scratch and preparing to scale – helping the company to meet and exceed its growth targets, while mitigating risk and implementing processes as and where needed, ultimately taking the company through acquisition by a global leader in the industry. Because of this experience, Nika understands first-hand the needs and challenges of high growth start-ups and scale-ups, as well as in-house legal departments.
