Biography

Shannon has a general corporate commercial litigation practice with a broad range of experience in complex civil litigation matters involving contract disputes and business torts. Her primary practice area is energy and power industry disputes. She has appeared before all levels of court in Alberta and acted in many private arbitration matters.

  • Involvement in a wide variety of energy matters, including disputes on the duties of operators, accounting principles and industry contract interpretation
  • Regular advisor on power and utility disputes and regulatory matters

Commercial Arbitration

  • Counsel in arbitrations under Alberta's legislated Power Purchase Arrangements and in related court proceedings
  • Acted for clients in numerous domestic arbitrations of various commercial issues under the Alberta Arbitration Act
  • Experience in international commercial arbitrations

Electronic Documents and Data Management

  • Regular advisor on records management, litigation preparedness, electronic discovery and evidence matters
