Biography
Randy's energy law practice is focused primarily in the area of oil and gas law. Randy's services include:
- Title review/opinions in conjunction with the acquisition and divestiture ("A&D") of oil and gas assets, including title deficiency notices and rectification of title issues
- Pre-drilling opinions in respect of freehold lands
- Drafting, interpreting, and providing advice in respect of various types of earning, operating, pooling and royalty agreements
- Negotiating and drafting purchase and sale agreements and ancillary documentation for A&D transactions
- Corporate due diligence in respect of A&D transactions
- Advice and documentation in respect of rights of first refusal
- Advice relating to disputes among working interest and royalty owners
Prior to joining Lawson Lundell, Randy practiced with EnerLaw LLP, a Calgary-based boutique firm focusing primarily on the energy industry. Previously he was with Thackray Burgess and its predecessor, Blain & Company, also a boutique oil and gas firm.
