Neil acts as Counsel in the Calgary office of Lawson Lundell and is a member of the Litigation & Dispute Resolution Group. His practice focuses on civil litigation and employment law with a particular emphasis in complex commercial disputes, foreclosure matters, debtor-creditor matters, professional negligence claims, construction disputes, class actions, and judicial review matters.
In his employment law practice Neil has extensive experience in all areas of employment litigation and general advice, including severance disputes, restrictive covenants, constructive dismissals, employment standards, employment agreements/policies, and conducting workplace investigations.
Neil has appeared before all levels of court in Alberta, the Alberta Human Rights Tribunal, the Alberta Environmental Appeals Board, the Saskatchewan Court of Kings Bench and Court of Appeal, and has made submissions before other courts and tribunals including the Federal Court and the Federal Court of Appeal.
Prior to joining Lawson Lundell, Neil articled to a justice of the Federal Court of Appeal in Ottawa, thereafter practicing with an international law firm and a litigation firm in Calgary.
