Biography

Jamie Gagner is a corporate finance and securities lawyer. In addition to corporate finance and securities, he focuses on governance and directors' liability, mergers and acquisitions and corporate and commercial matters.

In his practice Jamie advises on a broad range of securities, corporate and commercial law matters including public and private financings, mergers and acquisitions, reorganizations, and purchases and sales of businesses and assets. He also regularly advises clients on corporate governance, regulatory compliance, continuous disclosure and general corporate and commercial matters.

  • Public Alberta-based energy trust – on the US$47.5-million sale of assets to a US-based private-equity purchaser, and subsequent winding-up of the public energy trust
  • Dual-listed Canada-based multinational oil and gas corporation – on the $427-million acquisition of a Saskatchewan oil and gas corporation
  • Dual-listed Canadian multinational integrated oil and gas corporation – on the $22.6-billion merger with a Canadian oil sands producer
  • Private energy company – on agreements for an in-kind equity investment
  • Public energy company – on the development of corporate governance policies
  • Private energy company – on the acquisition by two US-based oil and gas companies
  • Public digital and satellite service provider – on the acquisition by a US SPAC
