Biography

Codie is an associate in the Research & Opinions Group. She has experience distilling complex legal issues into concise and persuasive legal memos, opinions, and arguments on a variety of topics, including statutory interpretation, Charter issues, quasi-criminal matters, bankruptcy, fraud, and tort. She has also taught advance legal research and writing at the University of Calgary.

Prior to joining Lawson Lundell LLP, Codie was legal counsel to the Alberta Court of Appeal and through her time there, gained unique and comprehensive experience with appellate advocacy and judicial review.

Codie is currently enrolled in a graduate diploma for legislative drafting, which has given her advanced training in drafting a variety of official documents for government and quasi-government bodies.
