Benchmark Litigation Recognises Six Lawson Lundell Lawyers on Their List of Canada’s 'Top 100 Women in Litigation'

Lawson Lundell is delighted to announce that six of our lawyers have been recognised by Benchmark Litigation on their list of Canada’s 'Top 100 Women in Litigation' for 2022. The six lawyers that have been honoured are:

Tamela Coates, QC, FCIArb., has more than 25 years of experience advising clients in a wide variety of commercial disputes and with respect to risk management. Currently, Tammy serves clients in the energy, telecommunications, and financial and professional services sectors regarding complex claims involving commercial, environmental, and intellectual property issues and risk and reputational management. This is the third year in a row that Tammy has been included on this list. 

Shannon Hayes has a corporate commercial litigation and arbitration practice with a broad range of experience in complex matters involving contract disputes and business torts. Her primary practice area is energy and power industry disputes. She has appeared before all levels of court in Alberta and acted in many private arbitration matters.

Amy Nathanson is a litigator practicing civil and commercial litigation. She acts for clients in complex business and commercial disputes in a broad range of industries. Her practice areas include pension and benefits disputes, commercial disputes, class actions, product liability, insurance litigation, construction disputes. Amy has appeared as counsel in all levels of court in British Columbia. She also resolves matters using alternative dispute resolution, including mediation.

Nicole Skuggedal practices in all areas of labour and employment law, including advising clients on wrongful dismissal, labour relations, human rights and privacy issues. Nicole has represented clients in matters involving labour arbitrations, labour relations boards, employment standards tribunals, human rights tribunals, privacy commissioners, and has appeared before the British Columbia Supreme Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court of Canada.

Marika Strobl’s practice is focused on resolving complicated business disputes, with an emphasis on disputes relating to the energy industry, including power and renewable energy. She has particular experience handling complex contractual claims and with conducting domestic commercial arbitrations. Marika also has experience representing clients in all manner of tort and negligence claims, has acted in shareholder matters, including defending oppression actions and derivative claims, and provides advice concerning director and officer liability.

Shannon Wray is a litigator with more than 18 years of experience advising clients in complex, commercial disputes. Her practice primarily focuses on contractual and energy disputes, joint venture, accounting and operator claims. She has appeared before all levels of Court in Alberta and acted in private arbitration matters.
