Lawson Lundell lawyer, Sheila MacPherson, spoke on February 9 at the launch of the McLachlin Fund. The Fund has been established with money raised from the Government of Canada, the Federation of Law Societies of Canada and law firms and businesses across the country to fund access to justice initiatives. Sheila is a member of the Governing Council of the Fund.

The McLachlin Fund is named after the Rt. Hon. Beverley McLachlin PC, who retired as the 17th Chief Justice of Canada in 2017, as recognition of her legacy of commitment to an accessible civil and family justice system for all Canadians.

Other speakers during the launch included Justice Minister Lametti, Justice Richard Wager, Justice Beverly McLachlin, Justice Tom Cromwell, Justice Bruce Cohen and Richard Pound, to name a few.

Congratulations to everyone involved in the launch of this important initiative.
