Lawson Lundell lawyer Nika Pidskalny has been appointed to the Provincial Council of the Canadian Bar Association, BC Branch (CBABC), as a Yale County Representative. Her appointment begins in September.
The CBA is a national, legal professional association with 40,000 lawyers, students and judges in Canada, including more than 8,000 in B.C. They are dedicated to protecting the rule of law, the independence of the judiciary and the Bar, and improving laws, the justice system and access to justice. The Provincial Council provides a forum for leaders in the CBABC to learn, debate and advance the work of the CBA in British Columbia. It serves as an advisory group to the Board of Directors.
Nika will be representing lawyers across the Okanagan-Similkameen and Central Okanagan regional districts alongside Laurel Hogg of Rush Ihas Hardwick LLP. Their work will be focused on four areas:
- strengthening relationships between lawyers and firms of all sizes across the region.
- serving as a voice for the region - bringing forward local questions, concerns, and ideas to the Provincial Council.
- standing in for the CBA President at local bar calls and judicial appointments.
- championing the Bench & Bar Dinner.
Nika is a business lawyer specializing in technology and commercial transactions, with a deep understanding of how contracts drive revenue, protect intellectual property, and scale businesses. With over 15 years of experience, she has advised fast-growing technology companies, manufacturers, and enterprise clients on structuring and negotiating high-stakes commercial agreements. Nika is also the CEO and founder of an AI SaaS company, Splendr.
