
Ryan practices corporate and commercial law. He provides pragmatic advice on legal risks and business decisions with a focus on commercial and transactional matters, including in respect of private mergers, acquisitions and divestitures and corporate reorganizations and governance.
Ryan routinely drafts, negotiates and advises clients on general commercial agreements—including supply and service agreements, confidentiality agreements and royalty agreements—and contractual matters applicable to the exploration, development and ongoing operation of mining projects. He also has experience working in-house on secondment for a client in a legal role focused on procurement, construction and engineering.
Ryan is an avid runner and backpacker. He has run multiple marathons, summited and witnessed sunrise atop Mount Whitney (the highest point in the continental United States), and hiked thousands of kilometers, including the Pacific Crest Trail – an uninterrupted footpath spanning over 4,000 kilometers across the United States from Mexico to Canada.
