
Nilou is a corporate paralegal at Lawson Lundell's Vancouver office. She joined the firm in 2024 and brings over 10 years of experience in business law. Her expertise spans a wide range of corporate transactions, including tax-driven reorganizations, mergers, and acquisitions.
Nilou began her career in 2010 as a law clerk, where she gained valuable exposure to various areas of law while working at the provincial courthouse. In 2012, she transitioned to a corporate clerk position at a mid-sized provincial law firm, which evolved into a hybrid paralegal role. Since 2018, Nilou has worked as a corporate paralegal in international law firms, focusing exclusively on transactional matters in corporate and business law.
Nilou’s responsibilities include:
- Corporate matters including M&A, and tax driven corporate reorganizations.
- Incorporation and organization of British Columbia and federal entities including unlimited liability companies.
- Amalgamations, continuations, conversions, voluntary dissolutions and restorations.
- Share transactions, including alterations, share structure amendments, issuances, transfers, transmissions, dividend declarations, redemptions and repurchases.
- Corporate changes, including name changes, director and changes, and change of registered and records offices.
- Registrations and amendments of partnerships, limited partnerships, business names in BC and extra-provincial registrations across Canada.
- Conduct minute book reviews and prepare rectification documents.
