Michael maintains a broad litigation and dispute resolution practice, acting for clients in civil and commercial disputes.
Before joining Lawson Lundell, Michael served as a judicial law clerk to five justices of the Supreme Court of British Columbia, where he was responsible for research and drafting on a wide range of matters. The clerkship gave Michael a first-hand understanding of how courts receive argument and decide cases, which informs his approach to written and oral advocacy.
Michael holds a combined J.D. and M.B.A. from the University of British Columbia and first joined Lawson Lundell as a summer student in 2023. In law school, he was a finalist at the Laskin Moot and was awarded the J.S.D. Tory Prize for Advocacy. He has written on procedural fairness in challenges to arbitration awards.
