Joel is a commercial litigator with experience handling a broad range of disputes, including construction and real estate disputes, bankruptcy and insolvency litigation, shareholder disputes, judicial reviews, and commercial host liability claims.
Joel’s real estate litigation experience includes applications under the Partition of Property Act, challenges to certificates of pending litigation, and landlord-tenant disputes. His construction litigation experience includes advising on payment disputes, defective work claims, and builders lien matters. He has represented lenders, court-appointed receivers, and borrowers in insolvency proceedings.
Joel has appeared at all levels of court in British Columbia and has experience with alternative dispute resolution, including mediation and arbitration.
