Dilan advises individuals, families, and business owners on estate planning, trust and estate administration, and business succession matters. He works closely with clients to develop practical, tailored solutions that preserve wealth, facilitate the transfer of assets, and align with their personal, family, and business objectives.
Dilan assists clients with the preparation and implementation of wills, powers of attorney, representation agreements, and trusts, as well as integrated estate planning strategies. He advises on and implements techniques to mitigate probate fees, reduce exposure to wills variation claims, and support tax-efficient wealth transfers.
Dilan also advises business owners on succession and corporate planning matters. His practice includes assisting with estate freezes, corporate reorganizations, and trust and holding company arrangements to support intergenerational wealth transfers. He works closely with clients and their accounting, financial, and other professional advisors to develop and implement comprehensive planning solutions.
His practice also includes advising executors, trustees, and beneficiaries on the administration of estates and trusts. Dilan assists with probate and administration applications, estate distributions, and the transfer of assets, while helping clients navigate the legal and practical issues that arise throughout the administration process.
Prior to joining Lawson Lundell as an Associate, Dilan summered and articled with the firm. During law school, he served as a Research Assistant in Corporate Tax Law at the University of Victoria and completed a placement with the British Columbia Ministry of Attorney General, where he contributed to reform initiatives relating to the Family Law Act.
