Gillian practices environmental and natural resources law, with a focus on project permitting and Indigenous engagement and consultation. She leverages her background in environmental science and water resources to offer technically informed and detail-oriented legal services to companies across industries such as renewable energy, mining, and real estate development.
Gillian frequently advises clients on environmental permitting requirements for projects of varying sizes, including environmental assessments, water authorizations, land tenures, mining permits, and effluent permits. She also advises clients in proceedings before provincial and federal environmental and energy regulators, conducts legal due diligence reviews on environmental and Indigenous matters in corporate transactions, and drafts agreements between Indigenous groups and major project proponents.
Gillian received the Harper Grey LLP Prize in Environmental Law and a Specialization in Environment and Natural Resources Law certificate from the University of British Columbia. Prior to entering law, she completed graduate studies in Arctic environmental science and worked for an environmental consulting firm in North Vancouver.
