Catherine Whitehead

Catherine is a member of the firm’s Research and Opinions Group where she advises on complex legal issues across a wide range of practice areas. She has extensive experience preparing legal opinions on topics including insurance policy interpretation, tort law, domestic and foreign legislation, and court procedural rules.

Catherine’s practice benefits from a strong academic and research background. During law school at the Peter A. Allard School of Law, she contributed to the UBC Law Review and worked as a research assistant to both a professor and a retired justice of the BC Supreme Court.

Prior to joining the firm, Catherine worked at an insurance defence boutique, where she provided legal research support on varied litigation matters and contributed to the writing and editing of Sports and Recreational Liability Law in Canada (Canada Law Book, 2017). She also assisted with drafting pleadings, mediation briefs, written arguments for trial and chambers matters, and Appeal Court factums.
