Andrew practices corporate and securities law as a member of the Corporate Finance and Securities Group at the firm. In doing so, he applies the knowledge he gained from his business background to better understand his clients’ needs beyond the legal perspective.  

Andrew has experience advising both public and private companies on an array of legal matters such as mergers and acquisitions, public and private financing, corporate reorganizations, and corporate governance. He also has experience advising issuers, including investment funds, with respect to Canadian securities laws, regulatory regimes and stock exchange policies. Andrew has assisted clients with public offerings, private placements, asset and share acquisitions, tax based corporate reorganizations, general corporate governance matters, stock exchange listings and de-listings, exemption applications to securities regulators, continuous disclosure obligations, and the production of public corporate disclosure.   

Andrew started with Lawson Lundell LLP as a summer student in 2014 and joined the firm as an associate upon the completion of his articles in 2016.

  • The disposition of certain hotels and related assets for approximately $1,000,000,000 by a public sector institution 
  • British Columbia agent for the acquisition of a producer of resins and surface overlays for approximately US$850,000,000 by a private equity firm 
  • British Columbia agent for the acquisition of a national optometrist based retail eye care provider for approximately $120,000,000 by a national eye care products and services provider 
  • The private placement of $750,000,000 in medium term notes by a public sector institution
  • The disposition of certain mining royalty assets for approximately $15,000,000 by a gold mining company
  • The initial public offering of a TSX-V listed issuer
  • Numerous multi-million dollar earn-in and joint venture arrangements by a gold mining company
  • Acquisition of an insurance brokerage for approximately $5,000,000 by an international insurance company
