Biography

Shannon is a litigator with more than 20 years of experience advising clients in complex, commercial disputes. Her practice primarily focuses on contractual and energy disputes, joint venture, accounting and operator claims. She has appeared before all levels of Court in Alberta and acted in private arbitration matters. Shannon is now involved in regulatory/administrative law energy matters involving both electricity and the oil and gas sectors with appearances at the Alberta Utilities Commission, Surface Rights Board and Manitoba Public Utilities Board.

    • Represented a low cost carrier in a complex lawsuit against a legacy airline in the Ontario Supreme Court

    • Wide range of corporate litigation, including oppression actions and directors' and officers' liability claims

    • Represents numerous clients in a variety of oil & gas litigation matters
    • Represents parties in the electrical generating industry relating to the interpretation and application of Power Purchase Arrangements, including having acted as counsel in Power Purchase Arrangement arbitration
  • Privacy, Electronic Documents and E-Discovery
    • Regular advisor on records management, litigation preparedness, electronic discovery and evidence matters
  • Alternative Dispute Resolution and Court Experience
    • Appearances before all levels of Courts in Alberta
