Neil has over 30 years experience in general business law matters, as well as major project work including mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, engineering, procurement and construction, project development and corporate governance and restructurings. Neil’s experience covers a range of industries including forestry, mining, construction materials, aerospace, public-private partnerships and transportation.

Throughout his career, Neil has been involved in the management of the firm. He has previously been the Manager of our Business Law Services Group and the Managing Partner of Lawson Lundell and is currently the Chairman of the firm. Neil acts and has acted as a director and/or officer of a number of corporations, both public and private.

  • Acted for the purchasers of a major aerospace repair and overhaul service provider in Western Canada
  • Acted for an international cement and construction materials manufacturer in various acquisitions in Western Canada
  • Acted for the EPC contractor in the development of a brownfield biomass/solid waster power generation facility
  • Acted for various mining companies on engineering, procurement and construction matters in connection with several mine developments in Canada and internationally
  • Acted for ABN AMRO Bank N.V., the successful proponent to design, build, operate and finance the $100 million Academic Ambulatory Care Centre at the Vancouver General Hospital (now the Gordon and Leslie Diamond Health Care Centre) and the Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Centre
  • Acted as procurement counsel for the Greater Vancouver transportation authority (Translink) in connection with procurement and contracting matters, including the $300 million electric trolley bus replacement program and various privately-operated community shuttle programs
  • Acted for an international engineered products company on various acquisitions in Canada
