Practices

Krista practises primarily in the areas of regulatory/energy law and civil and commercial litigation.

She has appeared before the Alberta Utilities Commission, the British Columbia Utilities Commission, the Quebec Régie de l'énergie and the National Energy Board in regulatory proceedings, and provides ongoing regulatory advice to a number of oil sands developers and participants in Alberta's deregulated electricity industry.

Krista has also represented clients on a variety of matters in Alberta’s Provincial Court, Court of Queen’s Bench and Court of Appeal, as well as in the Territorial Court of the Northwest Territories.

  • Representing a client in an application to the National Energy Board for approval of a license to export LNG from Canada’s west coast
  • Representing clients before the National Energy Board and the Alberta Utilities Commission in relation to international power line applications proposed between Vancouver Island and the Olympic Peninsula and Alberta and Montana
  • Representing a client in applications to the Alberta Energy Resources Conservation Board for approval of a $600 million oil sands in situ project
  • Representing a client in applications before the British Columbia Utilities Commission for approval of long-term resource plans and short-term energy acquisition plans
  • Representing clients before the Alberta Utilities Commission in relation to a series of critical sour gas well applications proposed adjacent to the City of Calgary
