Anthony W. Ryan*

Tony advises clients in the forestry, mining and investment businesses, as well as counselling directors and officers on governance and compliance with securities regulation. His experience includes underwritings and private placements for issuers and investment bankers, mergers and acquisitions, including contested take-over bids, arrangements, going private and related party transactions, and financial restructuring. He is involved in establishing joint ventures and limited partnerships and has experience in the creation, operation and termination of income trusts.

• Trustees of an income fund on their response to an unsolicited take-over bid for a majority of the outstanding units

• A society on the special meeting of members to approve the proposed sale of a community television network
• A gold mining company on purchase of the interest of a majority joint venturer in a Chilean gold property
• An integrated forest products company on a joint venture to build and operate an oriented strand board facility in a limited partnership
• A special committee of directors on the merger by arrangement of two diamond mining companies
• A gold mining exploration and development company on a proposed joint venture in Russia
• The general partner of a limited partnership in the disposition of vineyard and ranch lands in the Okanagan Valley community
