Practices

Alex is an associate in our Tax group. As an associate he routinely assists senior counsel in providing private and public clients advice primarily on transactional and corporate reorganization matters. Additionally, he assists partners in the taxation group in providing structuring advice to large institutions and pension funds. Alex’s practice also focuses upon research and interpretation with respect to particular technical provisions under the Income Tax Act and corresponding provincial legislation.

During law school Alex was an active volunteer, contributing time to: Pro Bono Students Canada, by providing assistance to local charities and not-for-profits with respect to certain legal matters arising; Student Legal Services, where he ran civil and criminal trials in the Alberta Provincial Court, and the Edmonton Community Legal Centre, providing front line assistance to individuals seeking to meet with lawyers acting on a pro bono basis.
