Clifford G. Proudfoot Appointed Queen’s Counsel

18.12.19

Lawson Lundell is delighted to announce that Clifford G. Proudfoot, Firm Managing Partner, has been appointed Queen’s counsel (QC) for 2019. The Queen’s Counsel designation recognizes lawyers with exceptional contributions to the legal profession. Cliff is one of just 26 recipients for 2019 in British Columbia and there are only 499 QCs out of approximately 12,700 practising members of the bar in British Columbia.

“I am excited about the appointment and very grateful to my colleagues, mentors and family for their support over the years,” said Cliff Proudfoot.

Since his admission to the B.C. bar in 1992, Cliff’s contribution to Lawson Lundell and to the British Columbia legal profession has been indelible. His practice is focused on environmental and indigenous litigation, representing his clients in environmental prosecutions, administrative actions, permit appeals and environmental assessments. He has helped clients respond to a wide variety of environmental investigations and prosecutions.

Cliff’s clients include companies in the forestry, manufacturing, mining, real estate development, hydro-electric power generation industries. He has successfully defended clients against numerous regulatory and environmental prosecutions, appearing as counsel in British Columbia, Ontario, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba and before the Supreme Court of Canada.

Congratulations to Cliff and all of the 2019 recipients for this honourable distinction.
