Lawson Lundell Yellowknife Office Closes Amid NWT Wildfires

Client Advisory
18.8.23

The City of Yellowknife issued an evacuation alert as ongoing wildfires in the Northwest Territories rapidly evolved and posed imminent danger to its residents. As a result, we have temporarily closed our Yellowknife office to ensure everyone’s safety.

During this period, we want to assure you that our legal team remains accessible and dedicated to assisting you with your legal needs. We are assisting our Yellowknife team and their families in relocating to safer locations, including at our southern offices, as their welfare remains paramount to us.

We understand that emergencies and legal matters may arise, and we are prepared to address them remotely. Here are how we are ensuring continuity of services:

  • By Phone: Given the closure of our Yellowknife office, general inquiries can be directed to our Calgary office (+1 403.269.6900).
  • By Email: Our Yellowknife lawyers are still monitoring email; however, during evacuation, our lawyers in Calgary, Kelowna and Vancouver are available to assist and respond promptly. Please click here to access our team members.
  • By Virtual Meetings: We remain equipped to conduct virtual meetings.

We understand that these situations may cause disruptions, and we appreciate your flexibility and understanding. We are committed to providing you with the support you need.

We will continue to closely monitor the situation and provide updates on our office operations as they become available. In the meantime, please feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions or require assistance.

Thank you for continuing to entrust us with your legal matters.
