Lawson Lundell Welcomes New Senior Counsel Brian Gilfillan, RPF to the Firm
Lawson Lundell is delighted to welcome Brian Gilfillan, RPF to our Vancouver office as senior counsel in the Forest Products Group. Brian is a registered professional forester and has over 35 years’ experience serving British Columbia’s forest sector in forest policy and law.
"I joined Lawson Lundell because of its strong presence in Western and Northern Canada, its excellent reputation and long history representing BC’s forest industry, and its desire to grow its services in that industry," Brian said.
Brian’s experience in advising both the Coastal and Interior forest industries on all facets of major forestry legislation will add further depth to the Firm's Forest Products Group. The Group provides its clients advice on a wide range of forestry issues, including: mergers and acquisitions; stock exchange and securities law compliance, including corporate governance; mill acquisitions and dispositions; financings; joint ventures; timber and chip supply contracts; project construction and development; environmental assessment and permitting; compliance with forest practices and sustainability regulations and worker health and safety provisions; waste management and pest control regulation; and Indigenous consultation and impact benefit agreements.
