The Summer Program is one of the cornerstones of
our recruiting activities for our Vancouver office.
Each year, we seek to fill a number of our articling
positions with students who have worked with us during
the summer.
We pay summer students the same monthly salary as
articled students. In addition, we pay third year
tuition fees and a book allowance to an aggregate
maximum of $5,500 for any Vancouver summer student
who is returning for articles.
Our summer students are treated in the same manner
as our articled students, with one significant exception.
Due to the relatively short period that our summer
students are with us, we do not rotate our Vancouver
office summer students through our various practice
areas. Rather, we assign each student to a particular
practice area and appoint a mentor for the student
within that area. However, the summer program is flexible
and we encourage students to work with lawyers in
other practice areas if they choose.
In the Vancouver office we obtain temporary articles
for our summer students in order that they may appear
in Court.
