Lawson Lundell provides an environment which encourages each student and lawyer to develop his or her professional skills to the highest standards.

We believe that the development of our students and lawyers as professionals can only be accomplished by giving each as much responsibility as they can manage. We believe in learning by doing. We do not, however, abandon our students and associate lawyers to “sink or swim”. All of our lawyers are accessible and look forward to providing support and advice to their colleagues. In addition, we have a Director, Professional Development who is committed full-time to assisting our students and associates with their professional development.

We act as corporate counsel for many large corporations which have national and international interests. Our firm is frequently called upon to undertake work for these clients which is of a magnitude or specialization which requires the expertise of a number of practice areas in our firm. By being involved in such transactions and complex matters, our students and lawyers are constantly challenged and motivated.

Continuing legal education is one of our commitments. We actively encourage our lawyers to attend legal education seminars on a diverse range of topics and we have an in-house professional legal training program.
