Lawson Lundell’s Technology Law Group works with technology companies at all stages of development as well as the financial institutions and venture capital companies and funds that finance them. Our goal is to provide practical legal advice to our technology industry clients tailored to suit their stage of growth, whether emerging, early-stage, high-growth or established.
We assist entrepreneurs and early-stage companies with their business formation, capital structure, early-stage financing and protection and commercialization of their intellectual property assets. Members of our group have significant experience in complex transactions involving mature companies, including mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings and other public offerings, venture capital fund formation, private equity financings and debt financing. Our lawyers also have significant experience in the acquisition, use and commercialization of information technology products including the drafting and negotiation of technology licensing, outsourcing and software development agreements, turnkey systems acquisitions; original equipment manufacturers (OEM) and reseller agreements and electronic commerce agreements.
Members of the group are also registered trade-mark agents in Canada and frequently provide advice on intellectual property matters to our technology clients. Our technology law group also draws on the resources of the firm as a whole to provide advice to technology clients in employment, tax and commercial litigation matters.
