Jill has a civil and commercial litigation practice focused primarily in the areas of commercial disputes, insurance defence and insurance coverage disputes, class actions, and construction litigation. She has 15 years of experience as counsel appearing in all levels of court, in arbitration and mediation, and negotiating settlements.
Jill has extensive experience acting for aquaculture, forestry and mining industry clients in environmental and aboriginal litigation matters including resource use and access disputes and injunctive remedies. She also has significant expertise with managing information and technology in complex multi-party litigation, including electronic discovery.

Representative matters include:
- Providing insurance coverage advice and representation to a professional liability insurer in relation to E&O claims in the USA and Canada in excess of $100 million relating to the construction of a pipeline from northern British Columbia to Illinois
- Providing insurance coverage advice and representation to a professional liability insurer in relation to multiple E&O claims in excess of $50 million arising out of the construction of a hydroelectric power plant
- Member of the defense team representing the Federal government in tobacco-related litigation
- Representing an injured plaintiff in recovery of damages for occupier’s liability and negligence
- Defending international commercial arbitration proceedings regarding damages resulting from shipping delays
- Representing a pension plan sponsor in a breach of contract and bad faith claim against an insurer relating to its administration of a defined benefit pension plan
- Representing various clients in contractual disputes including service contracts, licensing and distribution agreements, lease agreements, agency agreements, purchase and sale agreements, and related creditors remedies
- Advising and representing clients in competitive industries with respect to competitor tactics and remedies
- Representing contractors, engineers, and trades in various construction related disputes including professional negligence, delay and other contractual fee claims, leaky condo litigation, and construction related personal injury claims
- Representing aquaculture, forestry and mining clients in resource use and access disputes with aboriginal and environmental groups, including obtaining injunctive relief and prosecuting contempt proceedings
- Representing industry clients in consultation-related disputes involving aboriginal rights and title
- Various disputes among partners, shareholders, and joint property owners, including statutory and contractual remedies
- Representing corporate self-insuring clients in defense of personal injury motor vehicle accident claims
