Evan’s practice focuses on regulatory, administrative and Aboriginal law matters. Evan has significant experience dealing with project permitting and complex litigation matters relating to the duty to consult. Evan also has extensive experience in the completion of due diligence relating to the acquisition of large scale energy projects, having recently been part of a team assisting in the closing of purchases of approximately 200 MW of renewable power facilities.
Evan has appeared before the Provincial Court of Alberta and the Alberta Court of Queen’s Bench, in addition to his participation in matters before various regulatory tribunals and boards.
Prior to joining Lawson Lundell, Evan was in-house counsel to one of Canada’s largest pipeline utilities where he was deeply involved in the approval, permitting and construction of new pipeline infrastructure valued in excess of three billion dollars.
