David practices corporate and commercial law and has worked for public and private companies on a variety of transactions, including asset and share acquisitions and dispositions, reorganizations, public and private offerings and various other corporate proceedings. As part of his corporate and commercial practice, David has acted for a variety of equity firms in connection with their investment activities.

David joined Lawson Lundell in 2007 after completing a clerkship with the Supreme Court of British Columbia. Having completed his articles with the firm, David now works as an associate in our Corporate and Commercial Law Group.

David has worked on transactions involving:

  • A TSX-listed coal mining and exploration company, in connection with a $60 million public offering of common shares
  • A TSX-listed gold mining and exploration company, in connection with a $30 million pubic offering of common shares
  • A TSX-V-listed diamond exploration and development company, in connection with its acquisition by a major mining conglomerate pursuant to a plan of arrangement
  • A TSX-listed coal mining and exploration company, in connection with its $120 million acquisition of an AIM-listed company pursuant to a plan of arrangement
  • A world leading mining and exploration company, in connection with the acquisition of a TSX-listed Canadian natural resource and exploration company
  • A Western Canadian private equity fund, in connection with establishing and closing its first fund, with commitments totalling over $100 million
  • A Canadian mining and exploration company, in connection with its $78 million acquisition of various Colombian mining assets and property rights
  • The merchant banking subsidiary of a major Canadian bank, in connection with a $60 million private equity acquisition of the assets of a leading heating systems manufacturer
  • A major water and utility infrastructure service provider, in connection with a $40 million term credit facility
  • A leading British Columbia based paper products manufacturing company, in connection with a reorganization of its capital structure
