Prior to his law career, Ben worked with a number of technology companies in a management capacity, as well as a software developer and project manager. He brings to his corporate commercial practice extensive experience in start-up issues, labour and employment relations and intellectual property management.
Ben regularly assists clients with their tax driven corporate reorganization transactions and has advised a United States based client on its inbound investment into Canada. As a member of the tax group at the firm, he is involved in the implementation of estate freezes, tax deferred reorganizations, and regularly assists clients on the tax aspects of their corporate transactions.

- Regularly assists clients with their tax deferred reorganizations, estate freezes, trust settlements and various corporate based transactions
- Advocacy and client assistance on various tax filings with the Canada Revenue Agency, and the Canadian provincial tax authorities
- Assisted Franco-Nevada with its oil and gas royalty asset spinout in conjunction with its $1.26-billion mining company Initial Public Offering on the Toronto Stock Exchange
- Assisted an Alberta based energy broker with its cross border energy export and import permit applications, and transfer pricing requirements
