Yellowknife

Located on the shores of the beautiful Great Slave Lake and just over 500 km south of the Arctic Circle, Yellowknife is a thriving northern city in a breathtaking wilderness setting.

Yellowknife has a population of approximately 20,000 people. It is a culturally rich capital city known for outdoor recreation, midnight sun and the aurora borealis.

The Yellowknife economy was built on the region’s abundant natural resources which includes oil and gas and a range of mineral deposits. Since the discovery of diamonds in 1991, three diamond mines have established operations in the region. Yellowknife is now known as the diamond capital of North America,
